Folklore Museum

The Mykonos Folklore Museum is located in the Kastro area of Mykonos Town (Chora), near the iconic Panagia Paraportiani church.

Housed in a traditional 18th-century captain’s mansion, once owned by Captain Nikolaos Malouchos—ancestor of the museum’s founder, Prof. Vasilios Kyriazopoulos.

The museum is spread across several rooms, each with a unique focus:

Traditional furniture, keys, oil lamps, handmade textiles, costumes, icons, lithographs, school items, and musical instruments.

19th-century bedrooms and kitchens, rare books, grooming tools, shadow theater figures (Karagiozis), folk pottery.

Lena’s House

Located at Tria Pigadia in Chora.

A restored 19th-century bourgeois home, furnished with original Mykonian decor, embroidered linens, and traditional dresses—including a replica of Manto Mavrogenous’s costume.

Agricultural Museum – Bonis Windmill

Located on a hill overlooking Chora.

Includes a 16th-century windmill, the miller’s home, traditional baking oven, wine press, dovecote, and historic farm tools.

Offers a glimpse into rural Mykonian life.
