Aegean Maritime Museum

Situated at 10 Enoplon Dynameon Street, in the Tria Pigadia area of Mykonos Town (Chora), right next to Lena’s House.

Housed in a beautifully preserved 19th-century Cycladic mansion, originally belonging to Captain Nikolaos Sourmelis.

The museum was founded by George M. Dracopoulos in 1983 and has been open to the public since 1985, with a mission to preserve and celebrate Greece’s rich maritime history.

 The Armenistis Lighthouse mechanism on display in the garden.

Nautical Maps, Engravings, Documents, and ancient coins featuring maritime motifs (dating up to the 5th century BC).

Living historical exhibits, including:

    • The Evangelistria sailing vessel (1940),

    • The Thalis o Milesios cable-laying steamship (1909),

    • The Armenistis Lighthouse (1890), all restored to work as originally designed.

  • Ancient marble gravestones from Mykonos and Delos depicting sailors and shipwrecks.
